Take a moment to think about how you went on with your day today. What did you do, what did you eat for breakfast, which way did you drive into work, and what was your routine like when you came home? Now take a moment to think about how your day was yesterday, the day before, and what about last week? If you are like most people your day-to-day has become more of a pattern than an adventure. You may be in such a routine you could probably go through the day with your eyes closed. As life goes on we get so caught up in the rush of everything we sometimes forget to perfect the things that truly matter.

I have always had a close relationship with God and knew my Savior at a young age; however I realized something significant the other day. I started to understand just how weak my relationship with God was compared to the level it could be if I had continued my spiritual growth. I got so distracted with life that I became complacent in my relationship with Him. In becoming complacent I missed out on learning more and growing in my spiritual connection. For years I prayed the same way, never thought to read different books on spirituality, nor did I ever see a need for change, until NOW. I was so deep in my own routine I was missing out on advancements in myself and in my connection with God. Since noticing this desire for spiritual growth I have started reading more and learning how to become closer to my Savior. I have started going to church again on a regular basis, and surrendering myself to the ways of the Lord. In the short time I have been doing this I have already noticed changes in all areas of my life.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

Albert Einstein once said “once you stop learning, you start dying” and he was completely right. Think about a child and how open they are to learning new things. They have a passion for learning and grasping whatever new information comes their way. Children are excited when they are being taught and they grow at an unbelievable rate which I think we can all agree on. As adults, we not only complicate things but we stop learning because we get caught up in our own routine. We can learn so much from paying attention and being around kids.

Lately I have been involved in several conversations with different people and these conversations have all shared a common theme. People are realizing areas in their lives that need change but are not sure how to pursue this change. Some want change in their lives simply because they are tired of living the way they have been living. Some are unsure of what steps to take to start their new desired journey, some are consumed with confusion, and some are just lost. Being that I have recently gone through wanting to change areas of my life as well I can relate with feeling all of these emotions. Within the last year I have made changes in my personal, business, and now my spiritual life and it was not always easy. Change in general can be challenging and we have all been through these uncomfortable milestones. Psalm 37:23-24 says “The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives.  Though they may stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” When changes are made from seeking Gods direction He will be with us every step of the way and will lead us to our destination.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

I think we have all struggled with having the desire to want change in our lives but the confusion and doubt can really knock a person down. Let’s face it, life continues everyday whether we are ready for it or not however understanding that the blessings come from outside our comfort zone should encourage us all to embrace change. What do you desperately want to change in your life? What is holding you back from the change? Remember this; everyday is another day to start fresh and to move one step closer to living in your purpose.

I heard this song in the car the other day and it hit me; I have been living the last few years of my life simply going through the motions! I have missed out on some of the power, glory, and pure miracles God has to offer simply because I had been living my life just by going through the motions. I stopped learning and by doing so I delayed myself from growing as a believer in Christ. When I heard the words “what if I had given it everything, instead of going through the motions?” I knew God was talking to me. Imagine how different your marriage would be, how successful you would be, and how happy you could be if you gave it everything you had instead of just going through the motions of life? We are not robots we were given the ability to learn and grow to become the very best version we want to be.

I hope you are all inspired by this message and start today to become the best version of you that you want to be. I pray that if you want change in your life then you take steps to start changing your life. Jim Rohn said it best “If you don’t like how things are, change it! You’re not a tree.” Every day you wake up is a blessing and it is a chance to start over so take advantage of it. It is never too late to begin working on a new goal and a new you.

God Bless you always,

Andrea Lopez

I loved your post ! You hit it on the nose. It is so true we get caught up in life and forget the most important relationship is our relationship with God. I love that you brought up the power and the glory and the miracles. Power and authority is what keeps a believers walk exciting. Without it it’s like having a sandwich with only bread no meat boring . Otherwise you end up with just teaching teaching all knowledge no power. The letter alone will kill. Growing is so important. Great post Andrea!! You picked my favorite scripture by the way. Thanks for sharing you are an amazing woman of God.

Such an amazing post Andrea! So grateful to have you as a friend and business partner. I new this post was going to be full of amazing wisdom and insight right after the first few sentences. It’s so true how we can all too easily fall into the routine of our lives that things become stagnant and we stop growing and moving forward. Life is so much richer when we don’t go through the motions in our careers, relationships and day to day activities, but this is especially true when we are speaking about our relationship with the Lord. Thank you so much for this post – I know it will greatly benefit everyone who reads it! God Bless you!
