Well we have been long overdue for a post and I feel it’s now time to finish and publish what I believe might be one of our more ‘controversial’ posts. So to anyone reading I hope you take the content I wish to share with an open heart and deeply contemplate the issues we wish to bring up. I wish to speak about TRUST & FAITH, not just on a personal level but as it is reflected in the current paradigm of our country and even of the entire planet.
“In God We Trust” is a statement very boldly printed on our country’s currency as I have no doubt you are aware. “God Bless America” is a song I’m sure you have heard and sang many a time in your life. In fact God is mentioned everywhere in writings and songs about American patriotism. Many of you most likely grew up reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in school and openly praying with your sports teams before games. You most likely have been in court room and seen someone swearing to tell the truth by placing their hand on the Holy Bible, or you have no doubt seen this portrayed in TV and film. Yet contemplate for a moment how much has changed in the world we find ourselves in today?
The United States of America was founded on putting TRUST in GOD and having FAITH in our CREATOR. In fact it is the only country that was set up based on a Judeo-Christian world view and many of the most accomplished people we are taught about in school have gained the strength and perseverance to accomplish the incredible things they have in life through their faith and belief in the personal God of the Bible. Yet sadly it has become readily apparent that our society today has a tendency to deify the person instead of praising the God who created them. We wrongly immortalize the individual instead of praising the God that person had faith in, the God that guided and directed their steps and blessed their undertakings.
Today Christians are persecuted on a massive scale and openly expressing your faith is something that can cause individuals lots of hardship or even death. The recent movie “God’s not Dead” powerfully portrays an example of how this happens on College campuses around the country, as inspired by the countless cases defended by organizations like Alliance Defending Freedom. Sadly enough it seems that much of the world has ‘waxed cold’ in their faith and we have moved from a country that would tout “In GOD we TRUST” and more realistically should say “In GOD we TRUSTED.”
The powers that be in our country today have become so sensitive to ‘offend’ someone with corporate faith that God is being removed from so many facets of society. The “Greatest Country in the World” is in a frighteningly large sense denouncing the very belief system that has created the environment for all the amazing accomplishments and advancements that has made America so great and sadly the secular world is being allowed to shape our future. Our country and the world as a whole is on a very slippery slope.
What did some of the most influential people who helped make the country what it is today have to say about God and the Bible?
“It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.” – George Washington
“The Bible is the cornerstone of liberty….Students’ perusal of the sacred volume will make us better citizens, better fathers, and better husbands.” – Thomas Jefferson
“Hold fast to the Bible…..To the influence of this Book we are indebted for all the progress made in true civilization and to this we must look as our guide in the future.” – Ulysses S. Grant
“I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good of the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this Book.” – Abraham Lincoln
“My concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.” – Abraham Lincoln
The bottom line is that the world we find ourselves in today is a mess. Terrorism, murder committed by children and adults, massive destruction to the planet being created by corporate greed and corruption, political scandals, etc. The list of moral dilemmas and the obvious disconnect between RIGHT and WRONG and GOOD and EVIL just goes on and on and on. The moral fiber of our world is being shredded to bits.
Children aren’t allowed to pray in school, we don’t do the pledge of allegiance in school, heaven forbid we openly share the beliefs and principles the country was built on that makes everyone in other countries want to come here so badly! The education system still teaches our children the preposterous theory of Evolution as scientific fact when even Charles Darwin himself in his later years acknowledged that there was not quantifiable proof to back up his THEORY! What is sad is that much of the world is so backwards in it’s thinking that our culture has been educating and bringing up generations of people who are so blind to see that Atheism and staunch Scientific views are MORE a religion involving blind faith and believing in illogical and impossible things than the Christian worldview is!
As I write this our social media feeds have been overwhelmed with what on the outside seems like a powerful example of a viral campaign for a noble cause; the ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Ice bucket challenge. Countless people are challenging each other to pour a bucket of ice water over their head and to donate to the ALS foundation to help find a cure for this horrible disease, it seems fun and the numbers show this is a massively successful campaign (somewhere between $20-30 million dollars have been raised so far). However most people are blind to what they are actually funding; embryonic stem cell research – which is simply research supported abortion. Read more here. Now I personally know someone who died from this horrible disease but this is not the way to go about finding a cure. In my opinion killing live human embryos for research is just as much murder as the horrific things done by Dr. Kermit Gosnell, an abortion doctor recently charged with first degree murder. If you aren’t familiar and choose to look up more about him, be warned the details of the case are extremely disturbing.
The bottom line is that the world is so obviously hurting by removing GOD from the picture on a grand scale that our children idolize movie stars, musicians and celebrities more than people who do noble and loving things. The enemy has become so sneaky in his ability to get the masses supporting evil that we don’t even realize what we are doing. As a whole our culture deifies celebrities over Jesus and God the Father and materialism and money are worshipped above all else. Have we forgotten the first commandments?
I AM THE LORD THY GOD, THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.
There’s a lot of Pseudo – Spiritual information grabbing for our attention in the world we live in. Authors such as Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Mary Anne Williamson, Neal Donald Walsh, Ronda Byrne have become extremely famous and wealthy touting their counterfeit spiritual truths. Even though I believe their hearts are in the right place, and I personally have enjoyed many of their books they aren’t telling the whole story. Having an attitude of LOVE, KINDNESS and POSITIVE THINKING will most assuredly benefit our lives, however many souls out there are so hungry for answers that they are gravitating towards the half-truths of the world while and not getting the fulfillment they truly desire. Our true selves; our SPIRITS, long to be fed and expanded with the SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD. This can never be replaced by intellectually appealing general positivity and purely a simply approach of choosing LOVE over FEAR. We must be very careful which ‘spiritual powers’ we tap into to feed ourselves – because most of them are leading us down the wrong path and into utter destruction and chaos:
“Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.” – Colossians 2:8,9
So in closing I pray for anyone reading this to be filled with the discernment of the Holy Spirit to be able to more readily see the difference between Good and Evil and what is Godly and what isn’t. I ask you to take some time to be a little introspective and ask yourself honestly “Am I truly Spiritually fulfilled?” and “Can temporary moments of happiness and pleasure really replace everlasting joy and peace?”
I believe we are living in end times and so much of the world has fall victim to biggest deception the world has ever known as C.S. Lewis eloquently wrote:
“The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled, was convincing the world he doesn’t exist.”
Maybe you are like I was a short while ago, and you still think this is about religion and not about a relationship with the resurrected Christ. Maybe you think this is all nonsense and don’t wish to think about the horrors of the world…..I invite you to listen to this message given by Paul Harvey in 1965 and think about how true this is in our world today:
Jesus said in the book of Matthew 24: 7-14
“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
2 Corinthians 4:4 says:
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Have you allowed the Enemy to blind you from the Truth like I did for some many years? Are you like I was and extremely negative and judgmental toward Christianity and the Bible when I never even taken the time to read it and see what it said? It’s a crazy world we live in today, but there is always hope and there is still time to choose your side, I challenge you to turn from the world and turn to Christ. Come to the Cross, eat of the bread and drink from the cup that heals all wounds, breaks all chains and gives the everlasting joy and peace that can only come from developing a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ.
If you have yet to do this, take 30 minutes and watch this powerful message and let’s help change the world!
May God Bless you Always,
