Enjoy another amazing blog entry by Andrea Lopez giving you the E2G Challenge to “Step Up To Your Greatness”:

A year ago I was at a complete stop when out of nowhere a truck rear ended me. That accident caused a fractured disk in my back which now lies on my sciatic nerve causing pain in my lower back and legs. People often say to me “I don’t know how you deal with the pain” and my response has become “I’ve adapted.” I have learned how to adapt to the everyday pain I feel from the accident and I have adjusted how I need to; so I can live. I have learned how to get by and get over the dull numbness in my legs and I continue to live my life. One night after having this same conversation with a friend a light bulb went off in my head as I was reminded of a very important topic. I realized that the adaptation we learn to deal with in certain uncontrollable situations is the same adaptation we accept in controllable situations.

Jon Bon Jovi said it the best; “Don’t get too comfortable with who you are at any given time – you may miss the opportunity to become who you want to be.” Are we accepting the life we are living simply because we have decided that we are too comfortable to make any changes? What if you are missing out on a life that is 5, 10, 50, or 100 times better than what you are currently living? Are you truly doing what you believe you were put on this earth to do, or do you feel that you were made for something way better? As someone who has searched time and time again on what my purpose was, I learned that when you are living in your purpose you will know it.  At the same time of living in your purpose you then no longer have a job but a destiny.

I believe that everyone has a dream and a desire of what they want their life to be, but only a few actually chase after that dream. We begin to get comfortable with where our lives are; and have no desire to change it. One of my favorite quotes of all times is “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done” by Thomas Jefferson. Hearing this quote for the first time was a big eye opener for me and I discovered that if you don’t change up how you do things you will forever be stuck on that hamster wheel that continues to lead back to the same disappointments. You will continue to run in circles until you decide to jump off and do something different. As we have learned in prior posts you have to choose faith over fear when it comes to every aspect of your life so you can truly be free.

I know I can’t change the fact that I was injured in that uncontrollable situation, but I can change the way I allow this to affect my life. We all need to focus on the controllable situations and control them. Are you not making enough money? Well you can control that by seeking new opportunities. Are you unhappy about your weight, relationships, or life in general? Then do something about it! Live the life you were born to live and be in control of your life. Often times I hear people talk about being ‘stuck’ so let me assure you that you are never ‘stuck’ unless you choose to be. We were never put on this earth to live a life of stress, chaos, and unhappiness. We were meant to be joyful, devoted, and compassionate. We were meant to be teachers to one another and genuinely care about the well-being of all people.

The main message I hope everyone takes away from this post is that it is time to take back what rightfully belongs to you; a blessed happy life you are proud to live. It is time to live a life that your parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren are going to be proud of you for living. Whether your circumstances now were due to an uncontrolled situation, or even a controlled situation, it does not mean you can’t turn it around and take back what is yours. Don’t focus on yesterday; instead look forward to your future. Do not focus on the things you can’t control but do focus on everything you can! Remind yourself of your purpose and let’s help each other live it. This video sums it all up and shows us how to take control of what was meant to be a negative situation. I hope you are as inspired by it as I was.

God Bless,

Andrea Lopez

What an awesome post Andrea! It does take courage to step out of our comfort zone to try something we’ve dreamed of but haven’t achieved. Thank you for inspiring me!

I completely agree with this post, however I am one of those people who hates major change. I am comfortable with my life and don’t like BIG change. Little things like shoes, favorite colors, favorite song / artist, etc. Change for me CONSTANTLY but BIG CHANGES in life scare me. But I do like to live positive and look for ways to find the BEST it I’d every situation/problem God throws I’m my path. NO ONE said life was easy. You’ve gotta grab that bull by the horns and ride. I just needed to learn to take a few embarrassments along the way. Sounds silly but that’s what I am most afraid of.
