**This post is much longer than any post I have done in a while but I invite you to take the time to read it to the end and review all the video content and links. It will be worth it I promise.
How many of you have noticed that around the world there seems to be quite the LOVE movement going on? How many of you had experiences over the last year or so where you for whatever reason just seemed to have an opening up of your heart and an outpouring of Love in all that you do? Did you have an experience where you just became way more grateful for life and what you have? Perhaps you suddenly felt more connected to others and more compassionate than before.
In this post I wanted to do a bit of a follow-up on the last post and share some more of my spiritual journey and experiences with all of you. I know that for years and years I always said that I never considered myself “Religious” but that I was “Spiritual.” Now in retrospect I realize that what I really meant was that I deep down felt and knew that there was something bigger and better out there, but I didn’t really know what it was. I was LOST. I was not finding the answers in the places I was looking, yet deep down I felt there was a place of power, joy, peace and love that I could find that would give me the rocket fuel I needed to bring the desires of my heart to fruition.
I feel that there is so many people I see in the world that are experiencing this outpouring of love in the world, however so many of us are still looking to fill this “void” in our lives and looking for answers to questions we can’t find the answers to. I don’t wish to offend anyone in this post but I do wish to share and impart a few of the things I have come to realize and challenge any of you reading this to take a serious look at your life. I believe that if you do so some of the thoughts and ideas I have to share might just not only CHANGE your life, but also SAVE it.
I feel that the main response many give for not believing in God is this: “How could there be so much pain, suffering and tragedy in the world, if there really was a God in heaven that Loved and watched out for us?” I have no doubt that you have heard this before or possibly even said it! I will never forget something I heard Tony Robbins say once, “Not believing in God is like believing that the Websters dictionary was created by an explosion in a print factory.” Isn’t that funny? I always believed in God, but which religious denomination explains speaks about the true living God that created the Universe we live in? The facts remain that Christianity is the largest world religion, a little over 31% in fact. What is easier to believe that 33% of the world are right? Or that 67% of the world hasn’t accepted or doesn’t know the full Truth? Maybe Christians are just the best recruiters! Haha! Or maybe there’s more to it than that.
The main problem I had with Christianity was a lot of the people I saw who called themselves Christians. I got offended by some of the people who talked with judgement and hipocracy, and I found myself uninspired at many of the lifeless Church services I attended over the years. However in retrospect I realized how ignorant it was to judge the entirety of something by a few individuals. After the spiritual awakening experience I had last year that I described in my last post “How to Get Closer to God” all I can say is that I started seeing the world a little differently. I started to see the beauty and perfection in Christianity where as before all I got was offense. In fact someone in my life had read many of the posts on this blog and wrote me this in an email:
“I’ve been catching up on reading your blogs this morning and am moved by the compassion you have for others and with the passion you have for your cause. Even so, I am not getting a clear picture of Christ as “The source” of all we need. In your blog on us being a light to others, we won’t be affective unless that light comes from Christ-the creator and source of light. The same is true of unconditional love. There is no greater picture of Gods love than Him sending His son as a sacrifice for our sins. God is the creator and example of love. 1 John:7-12 talks about Gods perfect love.”
Honestly at the time I received email, I was a little offended! I had this amazingly powerful spiritual experience after breaking down and praying to God like I never had before, I had already given my life to Christ at an altar call at a business convention 4+ years prior, and I had gotten baptized last March as well. However at the time I had gotten very sidetracked and very off course. I didn’t realize who the God was I prayed to, I didn’t realize who it was that answered my prayer for myself and the ones I prayed to others. As a result I was defeated, frustrated and confused. I had no power, and no direction to handle the everyday challenges of life, and worst of all I had lost the connection to this source of power and love and light that I had claimed before. Again I was lost. I didn’t think about my Christian upbringing, I didn’t think about my answered prayer, my previous dedication to Christ and immediate attraction to Christian writings, music and Church. Again I got very sidetracked.
The Bible speaks of this in 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12: And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Was it perhaps God himself working through my friend to deliver that message and get me back on track? For that I can’t say for sure, but as I’ve been learning and growing as a new Christian it sure does seem like the Enemy was doing everything to get me off track and take me out of the box. I don’t have time to share all the additional heartache, challenges and frustrations I went through after I backslid after giving my life to Christ, but I can say this: I am very thankful I am back on track.
So to you the reader, where do you stand? Are you offended by me saying that I believe that God our Father sent his son Jesus to save us and as he said in John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Do you choose to believe that ALL paths and ALL religions lead to God? We are all on our own journey and Lord knows I am the last one in a place to judge or condemn anyone from the path they walk, but I invite you to do as I’ve done and dig deeper. If you are still seeking answers and still looking for more please take the time to read all the links and watch all the videos here, review them several times if you have to and search your heart for the Truth. Here’s a great post on Christianity vs Other Religions. I would also highly recommend any of you that are still seeking a way to fill that void in your life and looking for answers to read the book “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis.
A friend also shared this with me last year. Even being in the most negative and turned off state of mind against Christianity or organized religion in general there’s no way this can’t make you rethink your position if you haven’t accepted what I have as Truth. If you are already a Believer, perhaps this will reinforce your Faith and get you to rededicate your life and refine your walk with the Lord:
Makes you think doesn’t it? I’ve come to believe and know deep in my heart that the Holy Bible really is the living word of God. I can see from my life the scripture I posted above, that I was sent the Truth but when I chose not to fully accept it, I was sent a strong delusion and in turn I ended up believing a lie. No person in their rational mind can deny that there is a deep hunger and wanting around the world for things spiritual in nature. New Age religious movements, and Pseudo-Spiritual teachers are selling books, tapes, seminars and the like more now than ever before! I have come to understand the reason why so many of these things gain so much popularity and it is because they point in the general direction of Truth however they don’t disclose it entirely. I spent years and years reading personal development books, pseudo-spiritual books however I never quite found what I was looking for till now.
I realized the SUPERNATURAL POWER that is only found in GOD’S LOVE! God is the source of all love and light and power – in fact GOD HAS NOT ANOTHER POWER BUT LOVE. This is in fact what all of the miracles Jesus performed were motivated by: LOVE. What’s most exciting is the SUPERNATURAL powers, gifts, abilities and AUTHORITY that we are given in the world through Jesus Christ. We must understand that in life that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12) Our life can become renewed, transformed and empowered with the ability to accomplish any and all things. But we must first understand this: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.” (John 3:16-17)
Many of you won’t like this, and won’t want to watch this, but I ask you to watch and let it deeply affect you. For this is what our God did for us, was send his son to endure the most unimaginable suffering so we could be saved:
I know that is extremely hard to watch and extremely gruesome, but you have to ask yourself this, would you be willing to endure that kind of suffering to Save the World? This is the greatest example of LOVE the world has ever seen. Because of this demonstration of love we are commanded to love each other. “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1 John 3:16)
I believe it’s Wayne Dyer that says “We aren’t human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.” We are temporarily living in these human bodies yet we occupy a Spiritual world – and all of the things we long for in life are things of the Spirit, not of the flesh. We can keep looking for happiness and fulfillment in TEMPORARY THINGS, or we can move forward towards our HOPES and DREAMS. In the world we live in today we need SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH and SUPERNATURAL LOVE; strength to endure the challenges and obstacles and love to forgive those who wrong us in life. We can go around being angry at God for what he hasn’t given us or we can choose to be thankful for what he has.
Ultimately if you want an answer to the question “Why has God allowed this incredible hardship, challenge or obstacle to brought upon me in life?” you will have to ask God yourself. I believe that when we walk away from his Truth & his Word and stop seeking him, God gives us just enough hardship to break us to the point of realizing that we can’t do it without him. When we hit rock bottom, the only place we have to look is up. We don’t have to feel lonely, we don’t have to feel weak, bruised and broken, we don’t have to feel unable. God has given us everything to accomplish all of the dreams of our heart and live a life of joy, happiness, abundance and fulfillment. Yet we have to claim it.
If you have not accepted Christ in your heart, or you have backslid and need to rededicate your life to the Lord I invite to read this prayer out loud right now:
“Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart, please forgive me of my sins. Wash and cleanse me. Set me Free. Jesus, thank you that you died for me. I believe that you are risen from the dead and you’re coming back again for me. Fill me with the Holy Spirit, give me a passion for the lost, a hunger for all things of God, a holy boldness to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am saved, I am forgiven and I am born again and on my way to Heaven because I have Jesus in my Heart. Amen”
Just like any relationship won’t develop intimacy without quality time, neither will you relationship with God. We must seek him daily in prayer, praise and worship. I challenge you to read the Bible yourself, starting with the New Testament. Go find a good Non-Denominational or Bible based Church in your area and if you’d like to learn how to exercise the power and dominion you have in Christ pick up the book “What you Say is What you Get.” Feel to reach out to me personally, post your questions or thoughts in the comment section here. There are answers out there, and everyone has to walk their own path however after years of searching I have finally found Truth, Power, Joy and Peace in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I pray you will do the same. This last video will speak to your heart, enjoy the song and ask yourself this, “Wouldn’t you like to have a personal relationship with the one person who will love you unconditionally, never judge or condemn you and fight for you through every single challenge you have in life?” He is waiting for you……
